I am a PhD student studying for my degree in Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology (SLA/IT) at the University of South Florida. My current research involves how we can use technology, not only to augment the classroom experience, but provide our students with valid and relevant learning environments in which they can use what they learn.
As part of that, I have joined forces with
Doris Molero de Martins, and we are investigating how Second Life (or other virtual worlds) can be used to connect students with speakers of various target languages. In our specific case we are focused on Spanish and English learners in the US and Venezuela.

I have many projects in the works and am always interested in looking for collaborators and advice. Check out my
Student Blog Project where we are learning about Spanish culture through social blogging (assisted also by our friends in Venezuela).
