Using video in the classroom means meeting the learners’ expectations of being entertained and trained for real life communication at the same time. Videos allow language trainers and learners to bring the real life context into the classroom and therefore learn a language faster and more effectively. As "video snacking" is already a popular way of the modern media consumption, why not use it for teaching or learning a language?
In this workshop we will discuss which steps we can take to make learning and teaching with videos enjoyable and effective in the long run. Step by step, we will go through an example lesson and discuss activities before, during and after watching the videos. We will talk about the kind of videos which are most suitable for our long-term goal: the most attractive and effective language training.
Let´s have some "language video snack" together!
