Thanks for following both blogs. I'm sure the class will be thrilled :-). It would be great to connect our kids, though at the moment my primary class are beginners. We only had 4 lessons so far, but they are very enthusiastic. I find that they are so much more motivated if they have a specific goal (not learning English), e.g. creating something and then letting people know about it. I also teach through Prkofiev's Peter and the WOlf, combining teaching music and language, plus drama and art and crafts. This will turn into an online project as well at some point.
My 5-8 group are at A1 level, so they could most probably enjoy communicating through voki. Voxopop is a wonderful tool. I just set up a speaking tutorial, but it's all in the tesing phase, and my recordings were done off the top of my head. The tutorials are for teenage+ learners at the moment, but I might think of something similar for kids. As it is only in the test phase, don't want it to be public, becuase the quality is not there yet. However, if you are interested in testing it with a couple of teenagers, I can send you the link and give access to a couple of kids you recommend. It would be important for me to have teenagers or adults who are willing to give honest feedback. This is the only way I can develop a good speaking tutorial. Oh, yes, and the other thing is that the sts need to be at B1 level already to understand what I'm saying. But we can talk about this as well, adjust level, etc.

How fortunate am I to be able to interact with professional English teachers worldwide here! I live and teach in a school in mountains southwest of China, which leaves little chance to communicate with native speakers, not to mention professional teachers. Thanks to the Internet, I am looking for opportunities to know more about the outside.

I have already got to the OUP tests. My students started from the Placement test first. It seems really amazing. They should learn a lot while taking these tests. That's great.
To your question: I have to admit that tests seem rather difficult for students who are majoring in economics. They have only 2 hours of English per week. It's toooo little. Though some of them are taking additional courses. The most difficult task happened to be Listening. I see now that we have to motivate them to listen a lot using Internet resources like Real English, perhaps.
As to tests for schoolchildren, they have started sit them since this year only. Educators are working hard over creating such tests for schools. But they are still far from being perfect.
I am going to convince our university authorities to buy the OUP tests for the uni while I have a 10% discount during 5 weeks. I have to keep my fingers crossed. It's really a great opportunity. I am sorry, I still donno how much it will be for the university. I have to contact with the OUP to inquire about.

Thanks again and again for the warm words. I'm feeling so excited the whole day long today. I've got a confirmation from OUP! It seems FANTASTIC! I have already registered, but now awaiting for the next message from the hosts. Actually, I still can't believe that.
Yes, I noticed that you had mentioned my name and my number. But I didn't think that it might happen.
I am hopping that my students will do their best to get prepared for the tests. They also can't afford to buy this course online.
I remember my first traveling to TESOL Convention in 1999 where I bought for grant money a book and CD of TOEFL Preparation course. Two of my colleagues passed that exam and got grants to study in the USA. I hope this time it would be very helpful for some of our students also.
I will definitely share my experience about Oxford English Testing.
