Since creating the fantasy documentary “My Avatar and Me”, Bente Milton, film director and founder of Skandha Media, Denmark, has not stopped walking the mixed realities of life. Her numerous projects, which bring her into contact with head of states, thought leaders and renown scientists carry one theme: sustainability. As the world transitions from a largely material oriented world to the fabrics of virtual and online realities, she tries to personally transform the lives of the elderly folks who find it difficult to live in a digital age.
One of these projects she is presenting today is a co-development project for a mobile app designed to motivate Danish teens through gamification award points to help their grandparents or other elderly ones understand technology and bridge the language gap when it comes to English terminology. These young ones can earn social points which in the long run will document their volunteer work and will put them in line for real rewards and scholarships.
Yet, there is more in store. Bente, who is invited as a guest speaker to the World Cultural Forum in Shanghai, continues to meet influential people in virtual realities, plans to stage a mixed reality event in 2015, projects holograms in cities, creates adventure games in virtual worlds and pursues her quest for a sustainable future with the following code word: “To the keepers of the future”. Stay tuned…
Bente Milton has written, directed and produced a large number of high profile documentaries. Her work has been distributed to more than 50 countries - and her films have been screened at some of the most prestigious film festivals around the world.
